WHO IS DAVID GEORGE CORBETT?

David Corbett is:the First Son of Rev. Waldon and Isabel Corbett. David is the second generation from his family who were immigrants from Canada. His grandfather and grandmother, Sewall and Catherine Corbett became naturalized citizens, moving from Port Lorne, Nova Scotia. They settled in New Britain, Connecticut. Sewall worked at the Stanley Works, and Catherine was a stay-at-home mother raising two boys, George and Waldon. In Canada, Catherine taught in a one-room schoolhouse. The family became members of Emmanuel Gospel Church in New Britain, Connecticut. Their faithful attendance shaped their worldview and path of righteousness that would be generational. (Proverbs 13:22)
Rev. Waldon R. Corbett met Isabel Dean at Providence Bible Institute during WWII. Waldon registered for the draft, but rejected due to a heart murmur diagnosis, which was never confirmed in later years. He would serve as Pastor, with the assistance of Isabel, to the congregations of: Hollis Center Baptist Church, in Hollis, Maine First Baptist Church of West Harwich and Dennis Port, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts ,The Baptist Temple, in Brooklyn, New York, True Memorial Baptist Church in Rochester, New Hampshire (www.truememorial.org). Rev. Waldon and Isabel Corbett would raise three boys, David, Peter, and Paul. They had 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ took Waldon to Heaven on August 7, 2006 and his loving wife, 10 years later.
David Corbett was born on Cape Cod on April 27, 1951. His parents taught him to live right and make right decisions or face the consequences. At an early age, he learned that the secret of a long life was obedience to God and his parents (Exodus 20:12; Ephesians 6:1-3). About 1959, he attended a Billy Graham Crusade. That night he made the most critical decision of his life. Hearing that he was a sinner and needed a Savior, he believed that Jesus Christ, who died for his sins on the cross and rose again from the dead, was that Savior. Therefore, he called upon Jesus to forgive him of his sin and save him. That changed his life so completely that he has been following Jesus and the Bible ever since. He faithfully attended church services, youth group activities and Christian Service Brigade, Battalion 1056. In 1969, he received Brigade’s highest honor, the Herald of Christ Award. He is number 313 in the entire world.
David would graduate from Spaulding High School in Rochester, New Hampshire in 1969. For the next three years, he attended Philadelphia College of Bible in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (https://cairn.edu) There he met his future wife, Sylvia Fogg, from Saco, Maine. She is a 1969 graduate of Thornton Academy. They would marry in 1972 and God granted them three children, Kimberly, Shelley, and David, who have all married and have 10 children of their own.
David’s college education and experience took his family to his first pastorate, as Pastor of White Rock Free Baptist Church, in Gorham, Maine. He was ordained on April 26, 1973. He would go on to serve other churches as pastor including Union Church in Biddeford Pool; Blasdell Memorial Baptist Church in South Waterboro, Maine; First Baptist Church in Georgetown, Massachusetts; Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sanford, Maine; Oak Ridge Bible Church in Biddeford, Maine. A number of those churches had small congregations. Therefore, additional employment was necessary.
David’s Criminal Justice Career began with his appointment to the Saco Police Department in 1973. Before this, he worked in private security with Philadelphia College of the Bible. He would also work with other police agencies such as York County Sheriff’s Department; Biddeford Police Department; United States Department of Defense; State of Maine Judicial Marshalls. He went on to become a Criminal Justice Professor at Pensacola Christian College in Florida, training students for a career in criminal justice for about 13 years.
David’s education also continued over the years. He graduated from the University of Maine with a BS Degree; Golden Gate University with a MPA Degree, (This degree included a Master of Public Administration, as well as, a Master of Justice Administration); Maine Criminal Justice Academy, (including Reserve Police School, Basic Police School, Basic Corrections Academy, Juvenile Justice Institute.)
David’s political beliefs line up with the Republican Party. Therefore, he is the Republican nominee for York County Sheriff. America has a two-party system to govern its people. The beliefs of these two parties have become more distinct in recent years, especially in Maine.

One of these political ideologies will make America/Maine great again and the other will destroy America and our way of life. Which will you choose? David rejects the notion of being Independent. In Maine, we have an “Independent” Senator. He was a Democrat Governor, he caucuses with the Democrats, and he votes Democrat. So what is he? “If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck and looks like a duck, it is a duck.” Independents lean towards one party or the other but refuse to identify with them. As candidates, voters do not know where they stand, until elected. Then it is too late. Therefore, to be honest with the voters they should register in one party or the other and then get involved with town, state, national meetings. Patriots please join the Republicans and make America/Maine/York County great again
David has served as the chairman of the Lyman Republican Committee, Delegate to the York County Republican Committee, Delegate to the State of Maine Republican Committee, and Delegate to the National Republican Committee. He was the Creator of the Republican Mascot, “Reptide.” He has run for Senator District 32 and Sheriff. He takes his civic duty seriously, believing that all citizens should be involved in the process. He stepped up once again to his civic duty, and that is why he came forward to run for Sheriff in 2026, “coming out of retirement.” There should be no vacant GOP seats on the ballot at election time!
